A Block of the Month program gives you the ability to make only one block each month, to not stress about finishing a quilt immediately, to learn new techniques or improve existing ones and to be able to work on other projects during the month. Classes vary from 3 months to 12 months. We have various start dates and personalities of quilts so match yourself to the quilt design that suits you and your goals for the year.

Trip to Japan - Sue Ripley - This quarter is the sashiko phase of this BOM. If you are interested in learning sashiko then take these classes. You don’t have to be in BOM. Sun , Jan 29, 10-1; Sun, Feb 26, 1-4; and Mar 18, 1:30-4:30; $21/class.

Mariner’s Compass - Deb - There will be a brief and free intro/discussion of this class in February to help you think about colors and begin planning your quilt. Classes begin in March. Skill building throughout the class. Sun, Feb 12 Intro 12-1pm; or Tues, Feb 21, Intro 12-1; Class begins Sun, Mar 11, 10-1 or Tues, Mar 20, 10-1 $21/class, approximately 7 month duration.

Building Blocks - Jean & Carla - This is a class focusing on skill building, using templates, building confidence in piecing. You will make 12 blocks during the year, either 9 inch or 12 inch size, and then at the end of the class you can choose from four different settings for your quilt to make it unique. Thur, Feb 9 and Mar 8, 1-4 or Sat, Feb 18 & Mar 17, 9-12; $21/class

Talavera - Mary - This beautiful quilt of Michelle Watts uses machine applique of beautiful Mexican Talavera art. 4th Saturdays, Jan 28, Feb 25, Mar 24, Beginners welcome. Skill building in initial classes. 9-12; $21/class approx. 7 month class.

William Morris Hand Applique - Cindy - Using either of two Michele Hill patterns celebrating the Arts and Crafts Designs of the late 1800s and early 1900s you can make a beautiful quilt with designs from another era. Not for beginners. Thurs, March 15, 5-8; $21/class, 7-8 months.
